Marijuana became legal in many states of the United States. Having it becoming legal to use was good news for addicts but now a study revealed having sex could be the reason for having more sex than normal people. Tobacco companies invest the huge amount of money in proving cigarettes to be the reason for sex appeal, but the study goes in favor of POT. According to some users, sex and marijuana are interlinked or marijuana puts good effects on sexual need but scientific results differ in both manners.
Are sex and marijuana interlinked? What does study say?
According to the study published in the Journal of sexual medicine, people who smoke more POT are having more having sex than non-addicts or non-smokers.
The study was conducted by Dr. Michael Eisenberg, who is a urologist at Stanford University Medical Center. He says see lots of people having sexual issues or issues regarding their performance in bed. Most of the time patients ask if they need to smoke less marijuana.
I thought to explore it may be worth it but when the results came I was surprised. In his statement he said, “Usually, people assume the more frequently you smoke, the worse it could be when it came to sex, but in fact, we learned the opposite was true”.
The study he conducted also looked at the data provided by US government’s National Survey of Family Growth. Nearly 23000 men and 28000 women were inquired about their sexual activities in the four weeks prior to the survey. They were also asked how frequently they used POT for the period of the same year.
The results stated in the study were like this, according to study, Men who did not smoke POT at all said they had sex on average 5.6 times in the period of four weeks prior being surveyed. While on the opposite side according to daily addicts they had sex 6.9 times on average.
The results for females were also similar to men’s, female marijuana addicts stated they had sex 6 times on average and for those were daily addicts it was found to be 7.1 times for a periods of four weeks before the survey.
All these results put water on efforts of tobacco companies for declaring cigarettes a sex appealing product while interlinking both sex and marijuana.
